Three cases were observed that the patients who suffered from filling-type
gallbladder calculus got better by oral herb medicine Dsnshisan.Here are the
reports.
Ex.NoI Mrs.Jia Gaifen,43years old.She came to see the doctor on Feb.10 1993 due
to the continual distension pain with more serious paroxym in her right
epgeastrium for more than two years.She felt nausea,looked dull and had a poor
appetite.She felt bitter in her month,was bored with oily food.The abdominal
pain extended to her right back. Whenever she was angry or anxious,the pain
would aggravate.her body test showed that the apparent pulse-feeling and
pulpation pain occurred in her gallbladder.No percussion pain was in the liver
area. Her tongue was dark red with thin coat which chequered with yellow and
white,the pulse was impeded.Lab.test showed that showed that ,white blood cell 9×109/L,neuter
0.71,lymph 0.29.B-mode supersonic test showed that the liver function was
normal,the parameters of the gallbladder were 44 mm and 26mm.The outline of the
gallbladder was invisible,the wall of the gallbladder became rougher and
thicker.The dim area of the bile disappered.There was a strong are echo light
belt followed by a wide and clean sound shadow.So the illness was diagnosed as
filling-type gallbladder stone combined with chronic cholecystitis.According to
Traditional Chinese Medicine,the humid and heat blocked in liver and gallbladder
car fry the bile to calculus and so stagnate the gas and extravasate the blood.
Oral herb medicine Danshisan No.I was given to the patient, three times one day,
four or five ballets per time .The peppery and oily food and anger were
forbidden.On Mat.11,1993,(one-month's medicine taking),her body test showed that
the spot tenderness in the gallbladder disappeared,the tongue was thin red with
thin and white coat,the distension pain in her right epgastrium
disappeared,too.B-mode supersonic test showed that the diameters of the right
and left lobes of the liver were normal.The membrane was smooth.The essential
echo was even,the ducts were clear.The diameters of the gallbadder were 48mm and
27mm,the wall was smooth.Many pieces of strong echo light balls followed by
sound shadow could be seen in the dim area of the bile, the biggest one was 8mm
in the diameter.On Jun.30,B-mode supersonic test showed that the liver was
normal,the outline of the gallbladder was clear,and the diameters were 49mm and
30mm,the wall was rough.In the dim area of the bile,many pieces of sand-like
strong echo light balls piled up in the neck of the gallbladder by sound
shadow.The patient got much better.
Ex.No.II .Mrs Dang Yuegui,41 years old. On May 13,1993,she came to our institute
due to her aggravating paroxymal distension pain in her right epgastrium for
more than two months. She had a poor appetite,the pain extended to her right
shoulder and back.She was easy to be angry and anxious felt bitter in the mouth
.Her tongue was dark red with thin white coat ,the pulse was weak. She had not a
fever,but had a grave spot tenderness pain in the gallbladder,no percussion pain
occurred in the liver area(+).B-mode supersonic test showed that,the outline of
the gallbladder was dim,the dim area of the bile disappeared,a strong arc echo
light belt could be seen in the gallbladder area,followed by a wide and clean
sound shadow.The illness was diagnosed as filling-type gallbladder stone and
atropy cholecystitis. The oral herb medicine Danshisan No.I was given to the
patient. Thirteen days later i.e.on May 25,she felt the distension pain in her
epgastium aggravated and her lower abdomen was uncomfortable,one hour
later,three reddish brown stones were discharged out of the body, whose surfaces
were smooth and were 3 mm in diameters.
On May 26,four reddish brown stones were discharged which were 3.5mm,4.7mm,3mm
and 3mm in diameters respectively.Since then she kept on taking the medicine
Danshisan No.I for about one year, more than forty pieces of stones which were
as big as peas were discharged during this period,on May 7,1994,.her body test
indicated that the tongue was normal.Her appetite recovered.B-mode supersonic
test showed the liver was well,the gallbladder was 5.7cm and 3.0cm in diameters.
The sound permeating of the bile was good.The wall was rough,it could be seen in
the dim area of the bile that many pieces of sand-like pea-sized stones piled up
in the body and neck parts of the gallbladder. The patient got better. She was
still in treating .
Ex.No.III Mrs.Nie Yougfen,48 years old.Her two-year's continual distension pain
in the right epgastrium made her come to see the doctor on May.9,1993.She was
dull,bored with oily good.Her tongue was thin red with white and thin coat.The
tip was dark red.Her pulse was impeded.She felt bitter in her mouth, was easy to
be angry and anxious,The pulse-feeling and palpstion pain was grave in her
gallbladder area,and serious percussion pain was in her liver area. Lab.test
showed that.red blood cell 4.3×109/L,haemochrome120g/L,white blood cell 10×109/L,neuter0.7,lymph0.3,the
diameters of the left lobe of her liver were 77mm and 65mm,the right 127 mm and
106mm.The membrane was smooth,the essential echo was even.The diameters of the
gallbladder were 76mm and 39mm,the wall was rough and thick.The dark area of the
bile disappeared.The gallbladder was full of sand-like strong echo light
spots,followed by wide sound shadow.The illness was diagnosed as filling-type
gallbladder stone with chronic cholecystitis.In Traditional Chinese Medicine,the
disease was due to humid and heat in the liver and gallbladder.After showed she
took oral herb medicime DanShiasn No.I for 78days,her B-mode supersonic test
showed that the outline of the gallbladder was clear. Many pieces of strong echo
light balls followed by sound shadow accumulated in the dark area of the bile.On
Dec.6 1993,B-mode supersonic test showed that the outline of the gallbladder was
clear .The wall was rough amd was 3mm thick .The diameters of the gallbladder
were 71mm and 40mm.It could be seen in the dark area of the bile that a few
pieces of strong echo light balls piled up in the neck of the gallbladder, just
occupying about one third part of the gallbladder.The patient could only feel a
little uncomtortable in her right epgastrium.Her appetite was normal,so she was
much better .Now she was still in treating.
Conclusion
The gallbladder can be filled by the calculus gradually because of differend
kinds of factors.In this case,many scholars regard that the gallbladder losts
its systole function.There was no bile in the gallbladder,so they think the
surgical operation is necessary for this illness.Through three reports mentioned
above,it is confirmed in some degree that the herb medicine Danshisan No.I is
satisfied to treat filling-type gallbladder stone .It is well known that the
mucosa forms many mucosa folds. The folds overlap ,forming a visible net.The
very fewer bile in the net is not easy to be found even by B-mode supersonic
test .The effect of herb medicine Danshisan No.I on the filling-type gallbladder
stone,I think ,stems from the factors that the medicine can affect the wall of
gallbladder through blood circulation,recover its systole fumction and the
medicine can be secreted together with mucus by the mucosa of the gallbladder.So
the medicine can smooth and dissolve the stones gradually. Meanwhile,the cavity
of the gallbladder is gradually empty,more and more bile from the liver and bile
ducts enters it,the gallbladder takes diastole and systole action and the
medicine can clean the liver and gall,reduce inflammation, relieve internal heat
and fever , invigorate the circulation of blood ,clean the bile,dissolve and
discharge the stones .The comprehensive effects can therefore discharge the
filling-type gallbladder stones by oral herb medicine.
